Stuck in Shrink Mode

Normally, my 921's experience the stuck in stretch mode.

This morning I checked and found that my HECD 921 had auto-rebooted. About one hour later I had an HD 16:9 program shrink to 4:3 aspect. I checked the remote control Format/Aspect button, it didn't work. I did a power cord reboot which corrected the problem.

I have that happen a few times before, around june/july timeframe I think (you figure out what firmware it was). I think when that happened to me, SD programs would display fine (in the middle of the 16:9 frame), only the HD programs were shrunk to 4:3 aspect.

Just another form of Stuck Aspect Ratio (SAR), I guess. I've had it, too. It always happens when I've pushed a lot of buttons so I cannot identify a specific cause.

I get the Stuck Aspect Ratio bug more with this most recent release than ever before. Far from making progress solving this problem, Dish has only made it worse.

I agree.

I hardly ever get to watch a show in the correct aspect ratio anymore because either
1) I am recording something else and would have to reboot, or
2) The wife doesn't want to wait 7 minutes while the reboot occurs.

This is the Charlie Brown of receivers...Good Grief!
