Hey everybody. So I'm trying to adjust my tv so it will look best. Unfortunately, all I have is "digital" cable, from AT&T. Does anybody have the Terminator 2 Ultimate Edition DVD? Well anyway, it has a program on it that helps you to adust your set to view it best. Setting it up for that one seems to have worked well on all my other DVD's, too. But now, how do I set it up to best view tv? Thank you.

You need the Avia disk, which works great with both Digital video and digital audio

Hi Gator76 and welcome to DBSTalk.Com :hi:
As Martyva said, the Avia disk works well. You can also get the Video Essentials disk. See more about them at the links below.
Generally if you set up your system using one of these two discs, your digital cable will also look great.

Ok. Thanks. Which one of these is best, then?

The Avia might be the best one to get at this time. Video Essentials is a couple of years old and slightly dated but still effective. A new Video Essentials with new setup procedures for HDTV's is supposed to be available this year but I don't know when.
I personally have not used Avia but I hear it's worth the money.

If you don't want to spend upwards of $45 for a setup disk, Sound & Vision makes one that is written by the same guy that did AVIA, though it has less tests (tests that you wouldn't even use anyway).
The disk is $12 at buy.com and it is much easier to use, as all of your controls to setup brightness, contrast, color & tint are all on the same page.
After your set is burned in (100 hrs or so), get it calibrated by an ISF tech. It will run you around $400 but it will make your set jump to life.

The disc that Darrell is talking about is Sound and Vision's Home Theater Tune Up I believe. It has the same basic setup patterns that Avia has at a significantly cheaper price.
