I have been having a problem that seems a bit different than anyone else's problems I've read about on this forum recently.
In the last few weeks I noticed the 921 will not record the next day when I put it in standby overnight (my usual course for the last year). I turn it on each day & the only way it will record any timers that day is if I reboot, then I have to do it the next day, etc. It won't even allow me to set any timers unless I reboot either. I complained for weeks to tech support & they finally sent me another 921 & it does the exact same thing. I had no prpoblems with my 921 for 11 months and now it's virtually useless as a dvr unless I get up every day before the timers are supposed to fire and reboot the machine.
What seems odd to me is how this would happen on 2 machines and yet I haven't read about this particular problem happening to any one else on this forum. Is it possible there is something else that is affecting my receivers and contributing to this problem, or just crap luck. I will be calling again today to have them send yet another 921 in hopes the third unit won't do this. The unit was plugged into an expensive Monster Cable power director in an unswitched plug. Tech support suggested I bypass that & it's been plugged into a dedicated outlet for 2 weeks with no change, which I expected since I didn't think the Monster was the problem anyway. Any ideas?
