I decided to get rid of my 500/300 combo and try the Dish 1000 with my 942. 119/110 come in no problem (105/85 signal strength respectively) but 129 does not. The LNB is good and I tried hooking it up directly and locating 129 but no luck. Any tips or tricks to get this thing sorted out? I followed the elevation and skew by the guide and also made sure the mast was plumb.
Thanks,
Joe

Just to be sure, try connecting the center LNBF directly and make sure it is receiving 119. If it is that would place the 129 LNBF very close to 129. Maybe some obstruction in the way?

After pointing 119/110 did you do a check switch?

I just took the single lnb and placed it in the 119 slot all by itself and tuned in 119. Reassembled and ran a check switch and 129 still doesn't show:( Now I'm lost as to what to do.

Any tips?

Joe

I hooked the entire unit and then peaked the 119 slot, everything else fell in place after the check switch. What signal strength do you get on 119?

Have you checked the switch setup boxes for "superdish" and "alternate"? It will then do the check for 50. Doing this brought in 129 for me where I was only getting 110 and 119 before.

I think on the DishPro receivers, it isn't necessary to designate SD or alternate. There is another thing I thought of, are You using shielded RG6 cable for your 129 satellite? Is it on the outside of the mount to prevent kinking of the cable?

I am using RG6 and the cable does go from the 129 slot and loops around on the outside.

The signal strength on 119 is 105 and 89 on 110.

I too also tried the SD and alternate options when doing a check switch with no luck..

On my unit 119 is several points higher than 110. Where you're at 119 and 129 are further west than 110. You might try to move the dish one degree at a time toward the west and then check, when 119 is at its best, check for 129. If still not there and 119 at a peak, you may try lowering elevation one degree and check to see if you can get 119 higher. Hopefully that will work.
