Santa delivered a Mitsubishi WS-55517 television on Christmas eve. I have a question about picture quality. I know HD is best and I am getting this soon. But how can I improve my picture? It not bad at all, but I think it should be better. I am on Directv with a Tivo devise. I was told by the Mitsubishi help desk that a compontient video cable from the Tivo box would help. But there is no compontient outputs. My DVD has these outputs, but not the Tivo. Can an S-video cable help? I have the S-video cable from the DVD to the TV, but only have audio RCA jacks from the Tivo to the TV.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I love the new TV and look forward to the HD.

Sorry for the long first post.

Thanks,
Kenny

Yes an S-Video cable should help clean the picture up some.

The best connection you can make with non-HD D* recievers is s-video, none of the current receivers have component...But you should definitely take advanage of using component video cables for your dvd player. You will still need the seperate audio cables as well if you werent sure. When you upgrade your D* setup to HD, you'll be able to switch over to component, or HDMI/DVI if your new tv has that...

Also, does your set have different view modes, e.g. Interlaced, progressive, etc?

If it does, choose interlaced for the signal from the sat reciever as the signal is 480i.
