Saw this on baseball tonight and was wondering what you guys think. Statistically, Jeter falls short of being an all-star. Arod and Nomar are locks and from a purely statistical perspective, Omar should be the third shortstop since he's having a monster year and plays better defense than Jeter. (This is all assuming there will only be 3 shortstops) Should Jeter get the edge because he's been better over his career and that it might be just a fluke half season for Omar? Not to mention Tejada should be in the discussion also. Keep in mind that this is not a discussino on who will make the all star team, this is about who SHOULD make the all star team. Jeter will undoubtedly make it since Torre is picking the reserves.
