Anybody else experiencing a service outage right now? I have been trying to call Dish via 3 different numbers and they all hang up on you. I did at one pint get told by the system that "my area is experiencing a service outage". How is this possible when the feeds are national? And to make things even more puzzling is that 2 of my receivers are working just fine but the other 2 only have the 101 channel available.

Currently all 3 lines are giving "I'm sorry all circuits are busy" message.

Way to go Dish!!!

Everything looks fine to me from a quick check. Are all of your channels out?

I can get:

101 DNFYI
9443 HDTV3
205 FXNWS
213 NASA
216 R&R
217 DRIVE
218 MEN'S
219 MALL
221 PREVU
223 HLC
224 SAH
225 TBFC
227 JTV
229 iSHOP
262 ANGEL
265 CCTV9
640 TVJPN
All PPV, HD and SD(listings not the actual movies)
All Adult Channels

All other channels are redded out in the EPG and when selected say "subscription blah blah blah" BUT this is only on 1 921 and 1 508. My other 921 and 508 are working correctly. They are all fed from the same dish and DP34 switch. All were working correctly a few hours ago.

I just was able to get thru to Dish (automated system NOT live person) and after punching in my phone number they say my area is experiencing a service interuption. It took over 50 calls to the 3 numbers to get this once!!!!

I just don't understand how "my area" can be singled out (I'm in the Chicago DMA) or how only 2 receivers are affected. Also my locals do not even show up. It's like my 2 receivers are not authorized any longer.

I have tried 800-333-3474, 888-371-9077 (audit team), and 888-284-7116 (customer care). I either get "all circuits are busy" or I get into the cue and then I get disconnected while waiting. The single time I got the "service interuption" notice it gave me an option to press 5 to speak to a CSR and when pressed I get disconnected.    :nono2: :nono2: :nono2: :nono2:

And now, no matter which number you call, you get this message:

"Due to technical difficulties we are not able to process your call. Please try again later"

So how wide spread is this issue?

I was just informed that, There was a major four provider (Qwest, Sprint, AT&T, Level 3) fiber cut near Reno, NV that caused the loss of locals, as well as the 1-800 number issue. The carriers are working to resolve the issue, but we do not have a time frame. As far as the other channels he lost, that has nothing to do with this issue.

Jason,

So did this person/source have any idea why the other channels were lost? Or why Dish can't answer thier phones?

This does NOT explain why I have all channels, even locals, on 2 of my receivers but NOT on the other 2.

....BUT this is only on 1 921 and 1 508. My other 921 and 508 are working correctly.

Not to open old wounds, but I wonder if the Audit Team has your receivers set to "phone home" frequently and due to this lovely telecom mishap, they were unable to report in. Since there is no possible explanation for this other than "you're stealing service" (note sarcasm), they cut your service on the receviers that didn't get through. It's a long shot, but anything's possible.

Boise,

I agree it is a long shot BUT I wouldn't put anything pass the Audit Team! (I don't think it has anything to do with them this time)

I'm just really puzzled by 2 things:

1) Why it is only affecting 2 of my receivers? and

2) Why am I able to get the sporadic channels I have listed? Some of them are not free like 101 and HDTV3 are.

Well, I finally got thru to the Dish Audit Team (that was the only number that was working). It turns out they sent out a "collection hit" last Thursday and they are claiming that neither of these receivers called back to Dish. They could not explain why since my receivers had not called back why it took 4 days to deactivate them. Oh and they don't call the second time, they just turn them off.

The 921 was a replacement receiver that we didn't even receive until late Thursday afternoon and activate until 8:30 pm (after the collection hit) so obviously it couldn't call in...it was still in a UPS truck! The 508 has been verified over 5 times in the last 3 weeks (each time I called in for a replacement 921). I am at a lost here since they ARE both connected.

And to add insult to injury...the fiber cut took out their customer service for 3 hours.

Chalk another one up to the Audit Team.:(

And I was only kidding about the Audit Team. Unbelievble.
