When I got home from work today, my kids complained that our R15 had recorded the wrong show. I checked the recordings and they were correct. They wanted to watch Scooby Doo; I had set up a SL to record it every day at 7:30pm on Boom (297). I set up the SL almost a month ago.

When they tried to watch the two copies of Scooby Doo that we had recorded, they found that some other cartoon had been recorded.

So, tonight I waited until 7:30 pm to see what the R15 did. It tuned to channel 297 and recorded the show. But while the guide said that Scooby Doo was showing, Scooby Doo was not on.

In other words, THE GUIDE DATA WERE WRONG!!!! The guide said Scooby Doo and the R15 recorded it, but Boom did not run Scooby Doo at that time.

Yep, I've got an episode of Good Times which claims to be Cheers on my R10. It happens. Maybe some tech at the broadcast facility ran the wrong tape (or disc or file or whatever they use).

Actually, this ran for at least 3 consecutive days, so it does not seem like someone accidentally ran the wrong tape. But my point is this -- it is clear that some of the reported recording errors on this unit are not the fault of the R15. The way to diagnose this particular error is to confirm that the program info does not match the program stream.

I have had things like that in the past happen. Iused to record Sponge Bob on my Tivo for my little one, at some point I guess they decided not to play SB at this time anymore even though the guide data said it was the show she wanted.

Nick is notorious for that right now... I would have to say more then 1/3 of the programs recording, don't match the guide data (and that is on both the TiVos and the R15s)
