My 942 did not record Stargate Atlantis last night. But it may be the fault of the unit. On my other reciever, the show is listed new but year listed as 2005. My 942 must of thought was old and skipped it.

True, mine did the same. In addition, tivos are reported to have done the same. BTW, I just checked my 942 and next weeks SA is listed as a repeat even though the description says new. So, it will not record next week automatically either.

IF you look at the year on the information of the Stargate Atlantis episodes they list the year as 2005. The 942 recognizes the year it is presently in as "new " episodes. Edit your timer on Stargate Atlantis to All episodes instead of new and you will catch the new episodes that were filmed last year.

The atlantis series is always show ahead on Bell expressvu. The current season here is allready done in Canada eh :). This is why it shows 2004 in the info.

Instead of all episodes, schedule the block of time for all SCI-FI Friday every week, and that will get it all everytime... Assuming of course you want all three shows..

I only have one timer set up for next Friday for Stargate Atlantis. IN fact it has a line drawn through the repeat episode that plays later on the same night . NOW if I set up a "dishpass for ALL episodes , then you would be right : it would record all episodes during the week on ALL sat channels. I checked and there are no others set up during the week. IF you don't want to do it that way then do a manual timer and do it the old way and record three hours or one or what ever.

DOH!

Anyway, the gist was that you may be right about not getting short term repeats.

I don't know how the machine recognizes an episode. Maybe there's a numeric value in the guide data? I have used the "all episode" option to record other programs which are repeated less frequently than SciFi's programming, and after watching an episode and deleting it, I have observed the same episode in the recordings some time later. I do not know what the interval was, however.

If someone knows how an episode is recognized, and how the 942 remembers it has recorded it (and how long it retains this "memory"), could you enlighten me?
