Last night I was hooking up my new plasma. I moved my LCD into my bedroom. I realzed I wanted to check on something so I brought the LCD back in and hooked it back up with the component and I had a scrambled picture. It had colors flashing and turning on and off. The Component was just working today. I then took the new plasma and hooked up the DVI-hdmi and I got a picture. So I unhooked the DVI and went back to the Component to the plasma and it did the same thing on the plasma so I know it is the 811 and not the set. I want the component to work so I can compare the DVI before I hook everything up. I would keep the DVI up to the plasma but every time I switch channels There is a 15 second pause before the picture comes on. This does not happen with the Component. My wife is gone out of town and if she sees the 15 second delay when she gets back she will frEAK-- HELP. I have her 522 runing into my 811 video1 input so we can watch shows while recording.

Have you tried to unplug and replug the 811? What software version are you on? What are your output settings on the 811?

Yes I have unplugged and repluged that did not work. My output settings have not changed this is why I am confused. Unplugged the component video to move LCD tv broght if back in the room and now does not work!!

Make sure you did not swap the connections. Also make sure that one is not loose.. I did that before. First step.. Check those connections again.

I did put the DVI cable in the input to see if it was going to fit. But it did not act up when I did this. Should I do another hard boot when I get home. Also why is ther a 15 second delay with the DVI-hdmi?

Not sure on the 15 second delay. I have DVI set up on my 811 and I don't see the delay. I am however not doing DVI to HDMI. Looks like we have two issues here. First one being you are not getting component.

Oh.. Remove your DVI cable when you have your component hooked up. And do the same when you have your HDMI hooked up. Remove the component. These should place nicely together but maybe that is causing your issue.

Is the DVI/HMDI cable DVI-D? Ussually if the hard reset doesn't work, as Ron mentioned, it's best to disconnect and reconnect cables.

Shouldn't be any delay. I hooked my dad's 811 up to his new Sony 32" LCD with an HDMI - DVI cable and we had normal channel switching....
