Oxygen is the fastest-growing cable network, thanks in large part to a deal that
found the women's network getting carriage on EchoStar's DISH Network and
an earlier agreement with Comcast.
According to Nielsen Media Research universe estimates, Oxygen is now available
in 66.4 million U.S. households, a rise of 22 percent from February 2005. Overall,
the network has added 12.1 million subscribers in the last 12 months.
Echostar signed Oxygen after reaching an impasse with Lifetime Television earlier
this month and moved into the slot vacated by Lifetime Movie Network Jan 16.
In the latest Beta Research survey of cable operators, released last week, Oxygen
ranked number one among all MSOs as the network they plan to add to their analog
or expanded basic menus by the close of 2006. ###
