View Full Version : Trying to get SBCHE to go HD--need your insight

I'm in an SBCHE community, which as you probably know, offers either DirecTV or Dish, depending on where you live (we have DirecTV). They have one dish (on each building? One for all three buildings?) and so I have to use a destacker for my DirecTivo to work.

I emailed them a couple of times about offering HD but their response is that they don't have any plans to offer it. I am planning to send a postal letter to their director of customer service to make my request known, but before I do I need a little insight.

My questions are, (1) am I asking a lot? (2) what exactly would they have to do to install HD in the community? My non-technical brain tells me that all they have to do is switch the regular dish with an HD dish, and call it a day. But if it were that simple, wouldn't they already have done it? I admit to not knowing much about how satellites work, only that I am tired of trying to aim my indoor antenna!

Your thoughts and opinions are appreciated.

Thanks, Chris

ETA, I came across a press release from Winegard (can't post it here) that talks abut their new HD triple-stacking technology. Perhaps that is why SBCHE hasn't moved on HD yet?
