View Full Version : 129
They just installed a dish 500 for the HD channels. They could not get the 61.5 to work because of trees. What exactly is on 129? I am only getting the VOOM
right now.
you mean you're only getting hdnet, hdnetmov, tnt, dischd, espnhd.
But they should've put up a Dish 1000 not a dish 500 and 61.5
you need to call dish and have them fix that.
129 and 61.5 have the same HD, so you need either one of those to get all the channels you're paying for
They also installed a video path power inserter model dpp44
to my receiver inside. It is like some kind of adapter? I took it off and
still get all the channels SD and HD. Do I really need this adapter?

My installer said the switch could burn up if that was off and the receivers were still on for any length of time.

That's not entirely true. If he's in a 61.5 market, and they could get teh 129, they wouldn't have a D1000 on the truck. Further, if the 129 was a bad shot at the D500, then they would only have to add a dsih, not move it. Depends on the situation.

look around for a opening in the trees, to place a 61.5 dish in different location, that can pick it up.
unless you live in a very low spot and a heavily wooded forest,
there is probably a gap somewhere to "hit" 61.5,
it's just a matter finding it.
You could get out your chain saw. :)

That's my favorite customer. When I say that there is a tree problem, he asks which one while he's reaching for the chain saw.

Did it occur to anyone here that the OP is in a SuperDish 105 market for locals? The installers in his area might not even stock Dish 1000. Their usuall install for HD would be, SuperDish 105 with DP+44 and the second dish for 61.5.
Everything I've read in this thread indicates that the installers in his area do not usually aim for 129. Charleston, Columbia and Florence SC all use Superdish 105 for locals.

Any suggestions on how to get a 129 signal above 70 in North Georgia? Have had technical out again today and they got 129 above roughly 58-60 now up to 70 on one TP but no higher. 110 is roughly 95+ and 119 roughly 100+, depending on TP.

Considering that they are eliminating the SuperDishes by mirroring the channels on the 129 and the new E* 10 sat, then the D1000 would be the correct dish if those channels are on the 129.
For the short term or long term a DiSH 300 for 129 or 61.5. I they cannot get 61.5 then the user could do a 30" dish for 129 if they really wanted to get more signal.

if E6 ends up at 129 as was mentioned somewhere else as a possibility, that could allow for stronger signals, and maybe that is part of the plan?
