Hi,
I have a mpeg4 hybrid camcorder that has a tv-in function that records 480i over it's rca av dongle. I have tried to record some hd content (downconverted to 480i of course) from the AV output of the dish 6000 and dish 811 receivers, but there are only 2 stretch modes; 1 that will zoom a 4:3 picture out of a 16:9, and another that produces black bars on the top and bottom. I'm hoping that the 622 will have a mode that produces a anamorphic 480i output.

Thanks!

The ViP-211 doesn't have it in its latest release, IIRC. Hopefully the 622 is smarter.

I don't have the 942 but I had asked this question on threads of this forum. It was able to output anamorphic over composite ( and one other one). I am hoping the 622 can output anamorphic as well. I assume it can. Please verify when it is evaluated on this site. I have a 921 and have been making anamorphic DVD's from the "S" output for years. The 921 has functioning very well for me (since January 2004). Never bothered with OTA because I have a Scientific Atlanta 8300 which is leased from Cablevision. Since the 622 has a "S" video out, I am hoping it will send anamorphic out of it.

I am scheduled for an install of the 622 one February 28th. It should be arriving at my house any day now. I ordered it on the 1st at about 8:00 AM, EST and the service rep. waited until Dish Corporate opened and she got them on the line before closing the order.
