View Full Version : Is the Lease Upgrade Online?
Can existing customers go here:
dishtv.com/order.jsp
to lease the new 622 receiver and setup my programming package? Or is it for 'new' customers only? I see that form has everything I need to get setup and schedule an install. It would be nice not to have to deal with their support people on the phone since I know what I need.
thanks

That's for new customers only. If you log into your account at DishNetwork.com there should be upgrade offers available - but YOU WILL NEED TO CALL DISH to take the offers.

After logging in look for Equipment Upgrades in the menu at the left.
Click it, select High Definition Equipment Upgrades and the offers are listed there.

I have not ordered anything on E* phone system - I've only called to do installations and receiver swaps. I don't believe I have ever reached the Philipines (and IIRC E* doesn't have people in India - so if you get an Indian they are working in a US call center).
I wish they would have a dishtv like interface for upgrades. It would make things easier.

Regarding calling Dish... Anyone know the proper sequence of numeric answers to the automated prompts when doing something like a receiver hardware upgrade? I.e. What digits should one key in to maximum the odds of being connected to an appropriate CSR?

I tried all the options and can't find the right one for new upgrades. Closes option I found is moving?

Charlie Chat states that the current 811 HD receivers are to be swapped out for the model ViP211 so that customers can pick up additional HD programing. I have two 811's but cannot get an answer about swapping both of them for two ViP622.
The Dish upgrade site states as follows:
DISH Network can come to your home and replace up to two of your current receivers OR add DishHD in another room of your home for pricing starting at $49.00! The receivers below are eligible for installation:
HD Single-Tuner Receiver for $49 (including installation & dish antenna)
I have the super dish so it is a matter of replacing the two receivers.
Can anyone clarify the upgrade policy?
The phone line is a nightmare and complicated with CR's that try to sell the 622 instead of a swap out.

First, :welcome_s, koaldawg!
You, like I, live in an SuperDISH 105 market, so it's not just a matter of replacing the receivers. The SD105 receives signals from 119, 110, and 105. In our general area, you're going to need a second dish for 61.5 to receive the additional HD channels (VOOM+UniversalHD+ESPN2HD). A Dish 1000 will not work as you're outside the defined 129 footprint (though it may still be possible toreceive, just not easy), and you still require the SuperDISH to receive 105 at this time.
From all reports, you're only eligible to upgrade 1 HD receiver via a lease at this time, so you could upgrade one of your 811's to a leased ViP622 and continue to use the other one (without all of the new channels), or you could lease 1 ViP622 and purchase another (fairly pricey), or for a lower cost you could lease the ViP622 and purchase a ViP211.
