119 Tp 31=100 here in N.E. North Carolina..........and i have seen frequent "breakup" on NBC as well as ABC locals for the past 3 days or so. Seems as though D* may have the problem on their end as there have been a few threads already posted in relation to this issue.

I'm showing 98-100 on 119, TP 31 on an R10 DirecTivo.

I'm just south of Jacksonville, Florida.

Tp 31 is a spot beam. It will be 100 to very high in areas within the spot and zero to very low in areas outside the spot. NBC is having troubles getting the digital signal out of NY due to the blizzard. Analog is on fiber but digital uses a dish.

Southeastga, what kind of receiver do you have? I need your help, and here is why...

greywolf is correct. Transponder 31 is a spot-beam transponder. It appears there is nothing on this transponder that you need. The closest places to you that use transponder 31 are for the Roanoke and Richmond locals north of you, and the Mobile/Pensacola locals to your west.

However, I am trying to find out if you may know which transponder the locals for Savannah are from. If you DO NOT have an R15, you can probably find out.

To easily verifyif your receiver works, change your channel to ESPN. When getting the signal strength menu, the transponder shown should be 10 on the 101 satellite. If it is NOT, then your receiver cannot perform this test.

So if the test works, simply tune to each local channel and get a satellite signal strength test. Record the transponder that is shown as it is the one broadcasting your local channel.

According to the filings I've seen, the Savannah locals should be broadcast over transponders 25 and 29. I'd just like to know how these are broken out over each transponder.

Actually, the R10 does this just fine. However, the R15 will not do this test.

Correct, carl6. I have edited my post to reflect the correction.

Wow. Thanks, Southeastga. Big, BIG, BIG help.

Do you still have WJWJ, the other PBS station?

As an aside, if the NBC is "choppy", I'd call the station.

It appears DirecTV is picking up some of these stations with an antenna. The station engineer would be happier to fix the problem faster than DirecTV would.

Never had WJWJ... It's listed on D*'s web site, but WJWJ has never been on or in the program guide.

NBC isn't the only channel thats breaking up/freezing its others as well like CMT & TLC among others. It's evidently a problem On D*'s end .......
