Starz Entertainment Group and DirecTV are offering a free preview weekend to all
DirecTV customers from 6 a.m. on Feb. 17 to midnight Feb. 19 (times Eastern). The
free preview will highlight 12 channels in the Starz Super Pack including two channels
of Starz, Starz InBlack, Starz Edge, two channels of Encore, Encore Love, Encore
Westerns, Encore Mystery, Encore Wam, Encore Drama and Encore Action.
The free preview weekend is designed to introduce DirecTV customers to Hollywood
blockbusters available exclusively on Starz including Guess Who (Bernie Mac, Ashton
Kutcher) and The Pacifier (Vin Diesel). Movies coming to Starz later in 2006 include
Bewitched, Flight Plan, Rent, The Legend of Zorro, Fun with Dick and Jane, The Chronicles
of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Chicken Little and others.
New DirecTV customers who sign up for the Starz Super Pack during the free preview
weekend are eligible to receive a $25 Target GiftCard and can enter the "Starz Free
Preview Sweepstakes" to win a Panasonic Home Theater System.
The "Starz Free Preview Sweepstakes" runs from Feb. 17 through March 19 with the
grand prize of a Panasonic 42-inch plasma HDTV, Panasonic Home Theater System,
progressive scan five-DVD changer with surround sound five-speaker system, home
theater mode receiver and universal remote (total prize package valued at approximately
$2,750). Five first prize winners will receive iPod nanos.
