Hey all,

I have a 6000U and recently odd things started happening... there are black/white dots on the menu screens, the menu screens themselves have strange coloration (blue rather then green) sometimes the start changing color quickly... channels themselves are either pixelated or solid green... its NOT HD problem this happens both in SD and HD. Taking out 8psk module did not change antyhing at all... it seems more of a hardware issue, perhaps some static got introduced to the board.... I am not sure who repair the units or perhaps someone here might not a solution...

thanks

thanksYou can sign up for DHPP (Digital Home Protection Plan) for $5.99/Mo. and get an exchange unit under this. Or you can upgrade to the VIP211 which we are going to have to do at some time.:)

Hey, I'm Cyclone.

It does sounds like your 6000 has a hardware problem which can only be fixed by replacement. Dish can replace it, but like boba suggest, a much better receiver is available with these Dish'n it up programs. I think that you can swap it out for like $49 if you upgrade your HD programming.
