View Full Version : How does programing on a disk work?
I was wondering about this.... For example, if The Shield comes on FX at 10:00pm on Monday night on my regular cable, would it still be shown on the same day/time though I realize the channel assignment would be different. Like for me, FX is channel 63 on my cable, but I know it would be something different on a disk connection.....

I assume you mean programming on a DISH... :)
Your programs would appear at the same times for you on satellite as they do on cable.

If you are on the west coast be aware that E* and D* send out the east coast feeds of the networks. Cable may pick up a west coast feed that puts programming three hours later.

James, would that be the Distant local thing? I didn't think of that since I'm in a large populous.

No - the 'cable' networks often have a separate feed for the west coast.
Like Nickelodeon vs Nickelodeon West and Disney vs Disney west except E* and D* do not carry the west feeds.
BTW: A current discussion of west coast feeds is happening here (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=53167).
