I live in Reno, NV (something like #120 on the list for HD locals). We are moving into our new house next week, so I gave D* a call to move us.
I was told that the installer will bring a new 5 LNB dish and a new HD Receiver to replace our Sammy MPEG2 HD receiver. Since HD locals are not available yet (I am sceptical they will ever be available in the 120th market) I requested an OTA antenna. I was not told there would be a charge - but I expect $49.
What I found very interesting was that he told me they could not transfer the two D* TiVos since they are "old" technology. He stated that I would have to purchase "new" technology DVR's. I assume he meant the R15, but I didn't even ask since there is no way I will give up the TiVo's. Once I told him I would not purchase new ones and that the TiVo's will work just fine with the 5 LNB, he dropped it.
Am I missing something? Or is it just D* being D*?
