View Full Version : Why some 622 come via UPS vs. the Installer?

Something seems fishy here and I don't understand why DISH seems so confused about how these receivers are to be delivered. Even when they tell people that it will come from the tech, it still arrives on the doorstep.

Is the answer from DISH of "It's coming with the installer", just an excuse to delay and change the date, or code for "it just hasn't shipped yet"?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like most people are getting them shipped directly to them and NOT having to wait for an installer.

What's the deal?

It was my experience that when I placed the original order on 2/1 they said it would be shipped directly to me. I was given a 2/25 install date. After others started receiving theirs from UPS I called Dish and asked why I had not received mine. They then told me it would be with the installer on 2/25. On 2/16 after everyone else was still getting them from UPS and not the installer I called Dish two times asking different CSRs about the shipping. They both said the installer would bring it. The next day it was delivered by UPS.

You previously asked about installs in Texas. I have the receiver here waiting for the 2/25 install and I know several others in the DFW area are in the same situation. I think there are also some that have been installed in our area.

Same here, Dish told me that it would ship direct. Called today and they said it would arrive with the installer on the 25th.

Has anyone actually received the 622 from the installer?

And then you could have a case like my neighbor where he recieved one by UPS and then the installer brought one and told him he had to install the one he brought and that he would have to ship the one he received by UPS back to Dish.

My how things change quickly. Just got a knock on the door and it was a neighbor two streets over. He had my UPS delivery that they left at his house on Saturday. Not one but actually two 622's. Maybe I should keep the extra unit for the spare parts. :D

Installer brought a 622 on Friday for the install and I received one today via UPS. Crazy crazy. My tv2 coax output appears defective so I will probably swap them and send the bad one back.

*EDIT*
Dish needs to let you put a usb dongle in and download your settings. It is a pain redoing all the timers.

That's an excellent idea! How nice that would be...I dread having to write down all 45 timer names so I don't forget when installing the 622!
