Echostar is stating that Echostar IX is (near?) finished and will launch in the fall. Is this the case? I was kind of suprised to see this...

It must be pointed out that the E*IX sat will go to 121 deg., and that is NOT a DBS orbital slot. It will operate in the Ku FSS (Fixed Satellite Service) frequency range: 11.7 to 12.2 GHz. DBS (BSS: Broadcast Satellite Service) uses 12.2 to 12.7 Ghz.
E* IX was announced about 2 yrs. ago. I'd almost forgotten about it..
E IX is the 1st sat to have a Ka payload. Now that the FCC cut E*'s Ka license we'll have tosee if they win the appeal before it's scheduled launch date.
