Is this really going to happen? I live in South Jersey (Phila. locals) And I am just getting ready to call for my additional locals. They say they will install another dish for free but I can wait a couple of months if they are going to enforce this law. The question I have is they said the installer would put new switches in. Right now I just have a sw64 and it works fine with my 942. Do you think it will work with the new receivers (622) that are coming out for HD or should I let them install the second dish now and get the free switch? I'd rather not. Thanks, George

Well, yes the free second dish now. Many National HDs on 61.5 as well as the Philadelphia HD Locals(testing only now). These will be available on the 622 with apppropriate subscription.
They will enforce the law, but it does not say that the Local HDs have to be on the same satellite.

Just for the record, the locals on 1 dish rule goes into effect June 18, I think (18 months after the passage of the SHVREA). And once again, just to be complete here, this rule says that all the local channels from any one given market must be available using one dish.
It does not say that all the locals have to be on the same dish as all the other channels in the system (Like Cheyenne, Lubbuck, Amarillo, etc). It also does NOT say that they have to be on the same satellite, like Brownsville/harlingen/McAllen). As long as they can all be received on one satellite DISH and that dish is required for getting any of the locals, then it is still compliant.
See ya
Tony
