ESPN and ESPN2’s coverage surrounding the Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be highlighted by ESPN’s live coverage of the 2002 Century 21 Home Run Derby on July 8 at 8 p.m. EST. The Derby will take place at Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers and site of the All-star Game. Barry Bonds, Jason Giambi and Sammy Sosa are all scheduled to compete.

If Jeter is sidelined for the All-Star Game, will Thome be picked to go in? I feel that after this past series with the Tribe, Torre may have felt that Thome should have been picked to get in. I feel Thome may be the most obvious choice, especially now. Thome should be in the Home Run Derby.
What? Am I a homer?
I'm a Thome homey
WHy, YES I am!!!!
Do you think Thome is going to get traded this month? Especially after losing Bartolo. There's talk on Angels post-game radio tonight on my way home from the game that Thome is gone to Atlanta and Chuck is going to come back in relief to the Angels. Indians will get Schoenweiss (sp?).

It could happen Mike, this is Jim's contract year. He does have a no trade clause in his current contract, but his current contract expires at the end of the year.....who knows.
It appears the Indians want young talent, our new owner seems to be cheap, on the other hand they seem to be wanting to build another team as they did in late eighties and early nineties.
Chuck is a good possibilty, I'm sure he would like to return home.

Who do you think will win the derby?
Sammy Sosa of the Chicago Cubs
Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants
Lance Berkman of the Houston Astros
Shawn Green of the Los Angeles Dodgers
Alex Rodriguez of the Texas Rangers
Jason Giambi of the New York Yankees
Paul Konerko of the Chicago White Sox
Torii Hunter of the Minnesota Twins
8 people, 4 AL, 4 NL, 4 (regardless of league) make it to the second round, then two make it to the finals.
