I received an email reply from DISH in response to a question I posted on their website. The email indicated that DISH was adding the National Geographic Channel on 7/12 on channel 186 at no additional charge to AT150 customers.

Well that is nice. There weren't many channels left for them to add this was one of the few that at least had some value IMHO. Have to wait and see if it is as good as I have hoped. Of course I didn't request it, figuring that they would not add anything until after the merger anyway :)

I CAN think of some others they could add that would have some more value:
Trio
Newsworld International
Goodlife TV
Ovation
Oxygen (has Love American Style reruns, lol)
MORE premiums of course, but guess that's a different thread...

Nice list Dishrich, except for Oxygen, I would have liked to see Trio and Newsworld added first, but such is life

I never considered any of the list (including Nat Geo) MUST HAVE channels. Which tells me that my hunger for new channels must have been satisfied a long time ago. The additional premiums that are left over also fall into the same category. But a new channels is always a positive thing as someone is usually happy about it and that is a win-win for us all.
Perhaps one day if when someone asks about new channels available, the list takes 24 hours to come up with and we end up with only The North Eastern Canadian Moose hunting channel and nothing else to add :D
I have directv and get national geographic channel , Amican news cannel , trio , internation news , news world . I ould NEVER go with dish network .
funny how when they came out with "dish 500", how were we to know that meant 200 + local channels that most subscribers wouldn't be able to see!!!!
when national geographic comes on,i think i'll have lost the control of the tv in the bedroom to my wife...lol
Nice, but you have a most excellent point jrjcd
Really, I don't think that's what they envisioned when they came up with the concept. They went from DBS to cable on a stick IMO.
