Again... those are two valid feature requests.
As of right now.. They are not there.
The Undelete... I wouldn't expect for a while....
Heck it took TiVo 7 years to introduce an Undelete functionality (IIRC it was just added to the latest version)
As for Dual Live Buffers...
I know there has been discussion on it, but I haven't heard anything definative about it being added and if so... when.

this oproves why rumors of an r20 sd dvr is coming
because people i spoke too, if the unit had adequete memory and ram .. then it would simply be a matter of adding a few to more lines of code in the software
again directv skimped on the unit

I am sure the rumor is true, that there is an R20 comming..
As it would simply make numerical sense...
But "when" would be the important piece of that rumor.
And from the people I have been talking to... the HR20 is the next unit to be released.
An SD-R20.... I wouldn't expect for at least another year.
But that is just my "educated" guess.
----------
As I a software developer, I can tell you from experience.
It is never as simply as adding "just a few more lines of code"
"Skimped" on the unit....
That is a debate we could have for ever, with no winner.
(And for sake of this thread... that would be a debate for another thread)

Interesting, I hadn't heard that. Which older receivers are you referring to and what are the specs for those?

specifaclly the sony, phillips and samsung branded recievers ... do the research as i did, i read claims they was faster than current recievers from other message boards, then looked at their sites(makers) then called for specs and BINGO proof

More help please. Are you referring to older DTV DVRs or just receivers? At least help with a model, at most how about a link? :)

i meant the dvr's although if i searched im sure non dvr's are similar
i read on other sat bords, then went to http://directv.com/DTVAPP/learn/Manuals.jsp
found the non hughes non directv branded dvr's, went to their websites , then called askin for specs, then called a friend who is an electronic repairmen and knows computers, to confirm what i was told....
newer recievers are less powerful
Well, from the information I have seen, the R15 has a faster processor, and more memory, than the R10 - it's immediate predecessor. From my personal experience operating both, the R15 is generally faster and more responsive than the R10 in the guide, menus, etc.
So what you consider to be facts, I consider to be opinions. I have not seen documentary evidence to support what you are saying.
Chrishiatt, I appreciate the fact that you are an unsatisfied customer, and I do not disagree that the R15 was released with problems it should not have had. But you need to appreciate the fact that even when someone agrees with you, it can get very tiring hearing the constant barrage of complaints. Saying it ten or a hundred times over really is not going to get anything accomplished any faster, or any better. You have made some good points, but it gets hard to sort the wheat from the chaff at times.
