Hi
I currently have cable tv for my regular progamming and would like to keep it that way. But I would like to add Dish Network for international channels. Is that possible? How would the hookup look like?
Thanks
yes you can.. you may be charged an extra $5/mo for programming from Dish if you don't subscribe to one of the "standard" packages
You can combine the signals on the same cable using a diplexer ..
Need one diplexer on each end..so if you want to connect 3 TV's, you will need 6 of these units
My installer installed these for free, as I kept my cable and it saved him time and cable run to all my TV's
...if you just have analog cable, run your cable feed to the RF input on your tv, and the sat box to an available a/v input.
On your remote control, use the "tv/video" button to switch between sources.

Having both cable and Dish is very popular around here. For an extra $500 a year, you never have to get a broom out to sweep the snow off your dish.

I have never had to sweep snow off my dish but have had to watch snow on my screen when the cable went out.

$500 a year?!?!?!? Basic cable here is $11 a month ($132 per year). What cable company do you have that is charging you ~ $40 per month for basic cable?

For $40 a month, it must be all of his analog programming tiers...
