I could greatly use some help with DirecTivo upgrades. I live in the Aurora/Denver area but am more than willing to travel to you wherever you are in the vicinity. If you are a Tivo fanatic (like myself) and would be willing to help out...please get back to me asap at musiclover408 at hot mail dot com.

Thanks very much in advance!!

musiclover408, Welcome to DBSTalk. ;)

Might i suggest that you offer a little more information as to just what you are looking for as far as upgrades. TiVo Community Forum has heavy traffic and should be able to get you the answer you need, if you can give them more details. Many may not rush to respond without not knowing exactly what your needs are. Maybe someone here will offer assistance eventually. ;)

Thanks for the advice. I am looking to have 2 HD Tivo's upgraded with the Zipper and the features that come with that. I also have an RCA DVR40 that I want upgraded with the Zipper and a 2nd hard drive. I know I can find places to do it where I can ship out my units. But I really don't want to be without my Tivo for that long (I'm sure you all can relate to that!). So with some luck I can find someone locally that would be willing to help a fellow fanatic out with my needs.

Thanks in advance to everyone!

Duane

Ah, "The Zipper". :) ...........a big issue at TiVo Community. Explain it over there, just as you have here, and most likely you'll get an answer.

Good Luck. ;)

musiclover, If you know how to pull and place a drive in a PC, you can Zipper yourself. Having someone else do the work can just cause problems as you are changing the way you units work. And when they change back, which they can do, you can't fix it unless you know what was done.

Do you know how to swap drives in a PC? Do you know what a Master/Slave drive is? If so, you can Zipper yourself. Plus TCF has alots of folks ready to help. But most would stay away from doing a Zipper on someone else's Tivo, other than maybe family.
