Cool Feature I never noticed before

I use the same remote to control my 522 and my 811. I noticed both of them today giving me a warning that the batteries in my remote were low.

I never knew it would do this, but its a pretty cool feature. Do all "newer" receivers do this? I know my Old receivers (from back in 1998) don't do this.

my 508 remotes do this. I think it's been on all the Dish PVR.

I think all of them have that feature. I know that my 811 and my 510 have shown me that message, I do not remember if my 921 did or not.

Yes, the 921 has the feature.

721 has it too. The lesson I learned was to NOT use cheap batteries...they seem to drain a lot faster, so I went back to duracell or energizer for the remotes.

My old system has it too but it works a little differently.

When I push the button and nothing happens, I change the batteries.

I use rechargable batteries. I usually have to charge them every few months.
