Just a positive note about the R15, it has not failed me yet! With all the negative comments here, and I must say I am sure they are valid for some, mine has been a pleasure to have!! The only issue I am having is with caller ID not always working the way it should. Other then that it does everything I ask of it!! Please bear in mind I don't have a ton of series links, only about 5 or 6 but the unit NEVER has failed to record for me. Just a positive vote for the R15!!

Two, out of thousands.

Not bad.

On my second machine. Same old problems.

Still have to baby sit it. :nono2:

I find it really hard to find "thousands" of negative comments Could you please point me to this massive amount of data?? Lets see with your 2 being bad that leaves at LEAST 998 negative posts accounted for, probably more since "thousands" was plural. I'm not saying people are not having problems.
I am a professional photographer who shoots with a certain brand of camera. When I go to the forums I hear people all the time complaing about the model I use. I have made Hundreds of thosunds of dollars with that model and don't share the same opinion. Am I saying these people don't have a legit gripe?? NO. I just felt there should be some response from the silent minority, those of us happy with our units.

I have had my R15 since the end of December and except for the caller id problem which I have only experienced once it has not let me down either.

This is my first DVR and I am not really sure how it is supposed to work but it has done what I have expected it to here for me. I am another rare happy camper. I can see where people saw it as a little quirky but it hasn't been a real big deal for me. I am sure all these minor issues will be fixed soon. I personally have had no failures. The only thing I was concerned about was how slow it is. It seems like there is a delay no matter what button you hit. I am not sure if that is normal or not but it's no real big deal for me.

Well, I spoke too soon. When I got home last night my R-15 was locked up. It wouldn't turn on with the remote or when I pressed the power button on the front panel. I had to do a red button reset. When it came back on it showed that no daytime shows had been recorded. But all my night time shows recorded just fine after the reset.

Murphy's law...

Lacy... you will probably get a software update very soon... and there are more to come (in a few weeks)...

Hopefully this won't be a cronic problem for you

The machine has worked just fine for me.

I think there are more of us out there than most people assume based on this forum... I mean, if you're happy and you're not a real tech-geek, why would you seek out a forum to talk about your DVR?

If you have a lot of complaints, on the other hand... you'll definitely want to voice them.
