Has anyone tried to connect a DVI-D computer monitor to the HDMI port ? Or I'm I going to have trouble with the HCDP content protection ?

Yes, I havn't tried a computer monitor but I have mine connected to a projector that has DVI on it. I am actually going through a 35' foot cable HDMI - DVI . It looks great!! The only difference between DVI and HDMI is that DVI does not support audio HDMI does. I now have a DVI to HDMI dongle at the projector end since I just bought an HDMI capable projector. Regarding your computer monitor, unless it is wide screen format your HD content will be rather small.

I don't believe any HDCP content protection has been utilized. If it was, the componet outputs would have to be down-rezed to 480p and I haven't seen that. HDCP will be used on the new HD CDs.

Strictly speaking, this isn't the only difference. HDMI supports 10 bit video, whereas DVI supports only 8 bit video signals. DVI doesn't support audio at all, but the video specs can be different.

Most major studios have stated they won't use AACS for the forseeable future on movie releases on the new HD disks.

I finally tried to connect my DVI monitor to the HDMI port. Am not sure why, but it did not work. My DVI projector does work, so it seems to be device dependant ( I don't think it is HDCP related though). My monitor is a 21' Sceptre

Then connect the display to the 622 with both off, then power the 622 on and then the monitor. If no luck try it by pwering the monitor on first and then the 622 receiver.

Jim, I think I tried that but I will try again this weekend. When you say power the 622 does this mean a hard power (unplug the device) or just soft power from the remote?
Thanx

ThanxWhat you're trying to do is have the monitor and 622 handshake. So I'd try it soft first.
