Show: Soul Train
Station: WPIX - WB11 (NYC Local)
Date/Time: Saturday, 4/2, 1pm (I know it was somewhere around there, not sure of the exact time)

The amusing part: flagged in the guide as Series, First Run, Repeat

No, that's not a typo. It was flagged as BOTH first run AND repeat.

Wonder if this is exactly how it came to DirecTV from Tribune?

Most likely.

You see this a LOT on Oprah and others shows....

This isn't new to the R15, it has occured for a LONG time on the TiVo systems.

Hence one of the problems of relying on those flags to determin first run vs repeat.

I guess Soul Train and Oprah want to make sure you watch there show.:D

Or maybe it's the First run OF the repeat:lol:

It would be interesting to see if the description was the same for the DTivo box in that same area.

I've seen that several times on my DTiVo.

Hey, I'd be fine with it if the occasional show like this recorded incorrectly if the box usually COULD tell the difference, instead of making zero effort to do so.

Plus, if the show's almost a week away, the guide data could very well clean itself up before the show actually airs, no?

Sure it could clean up.... but over the years with the TiVo system... the guide data "rarely" changes once it is in there. Especially for non-primetime shows.

Ok, but my main point still remains. Even when the guide data clearly says "REPEAT" and you have the box scheduled only to record "FIRST RUN" episodes, it still records.

Until that problem is fixed, who cares if the guide says it's a repeat or not?
