View Full Version : Green screen when connecting rgb to component video on hd tivo
My t.v. only has an rgb connection for hd. I bought a breakout cable (rgb to component video) and connected it. All I get is a green line screen. Does anybody know what I should do? Do I need to spend all that money and buy a converter box? Please help!

Double check that the colors match. If you switch one of the component cables it will throw the colors off. Also make sure you can select video from the rgb input on your tv. If the tv thinks it's supposed to be a computer monitor that will throw things off. Last make sure the connectors on your sat are pushed all the way in.

Most monitors that use a HD-15 RGB input require a transcoder to operate with component video. Like the Key Digital KD-CTCA3. Expensive but does the job until you get a new HDTV.
I bought an Audio Authority model 9A65 converter and it works although it doesn't look like it is 1080i. It loooks like 480P. Is there a difference in quality between converters? I am thinking about returning the h10-250 if I can't find a solution.
