Installation problem

My 622 has just been installed. In the process, I have found out that, different from my previous 811, there is only one audio out to TV1, and therefore all audio must go through my surround sound. I am unable to just get sound from the TV speakers without going through the stereo system. It seems like there shoudl be a way, but the technician says with the 622 and the two tuners, I don't have that choice.
I am not a techinician. Anybody have any suggestions.

Not true Kendick-I have mine going directly to the TV via RCA audio and through my receiver for surround sound via optical. I am sure your tv has RCA audio inputs-Just connect directly to the TV through those. :)
