Oxygen Media Wednesday unveiled several new acquisitions and special series at the Television Critics Association con-fab in Pasadena, Calif.

In addition to several renewals of programs like The Isaac Mizrahi Show and Conversations From The Edge with Carrie Fisher, Oxygen has picked up the rights to the cult British comedy Absolutely Fabulous for three years. It launches on September 3.

Moreover, following the network's celebrity-driven programming trend, Oxygen will air two specials during its August 11th "Bad Girls Week" with Alan Cumming and Gwyneth Paltrow hosting one and Kevin Bacon helming the other.

I can't stand to watch Oxygen, no matter what programming they carry, because of that idiotic black strip across the bottom of the screen. BTW, that lack of phosphor bombardment can, ultimately, lead to uneven wear on the phosphor coating of the CRT. This results in uneven brightness when watching a program in full screen mode (4:3)
