Dish "Essential Service" Package?

I was zapping around the Dish Network web site this afternoon when I saw something that caught my eye. I don't know how long its been there but in the package info for the channels there is an "Essential Service" and a "Latino Essential Service" listed as a package for a few key channels. I can find nothing else about these packages on the Dish Web site. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this package is, what it costs and what channels are in it?

I hope it's a good deal (good thing today wasn't april fool's day), maybe a CSR has answers about these "new services" :)
I hope it's not like an insurance service,
but if it's about a package of a few channels,
the channels I consider essential are these:
CNN, HEADLINE NEWS, TCM, TNT, CARTOON NETWORK, it's sounds more like a Turner Pack,
of course if this package was like an a la carte build a pack, I would say, finally just what we've been waiting. :rolleyes:

I believe this is a last ditch lineup for a customer to stay with dish without completely canceling so they can have some kind of programming. Kind of like Dish Pause, but you at least get something.

When I was working for a government utilities agency we actually signed up for this service but with D* for our Emergency Center. From my understanding it is for businesses only and mainly for getting information during Emergency times. I know that doesn't explain QVC and Cartoon Network but that was the explanation given to me.

I am pretty sure the ESSENTIAL SERVICES package is only offered when you call to cancel your service and you use finances as your primary reason for cancelling. To the best of my knowledge, you can't just call and ask for essential services, but rather threaten to cancel and they will use it as a last-ditch effort.
