Hi, Im kinda new at this and have some questions on installing a DISH 500 with Legancy LNBF. I will be using a 4900 reciever and was wondering if a switch is required, if so witch one would I use? Thank you Gary GMG

Depends on what your LNBs are.

1 or 2 receivers, I'd first look for a Legacy TWIN, 3 or 4 receivers should be a Legacy QUAD.

If you find 2 Legacy Dual LNBs, you can use a SW21 (this is what I'm using on MY 4900 and DVR510). If you have questions, ask, somebody will give you the straight scoop.

I have a dual legacy LNBF, so Im told. How can you tell if it is a Legacy? It has a place for 2 cables,110&119. Do you connect these two cables to a SW21 switch and then to the 4900 reciever? thanks Gary GMG

A DUAL - looks only at one slot - 110 or 119. a TWIN looks at both. Is your LNB about 4 inches wide ? If so, it's probably a TWIN and doesn't need any switches on a Dish500.

Gary, get back with the person who said you have a "dual," that's a Twin. You don't need to add a switch (unless you add a dish for a 3rd satellite) because it's built in. Both outputs will get 119 & 110. http://ekb.dbstalk.com/82 shows the difference between a Dish500 with 2 duals or a Twin.

DishPro LNBs have a prominent dp logo, legacy ones just say "Digital LNBF."
