Hi! I've been a DirecTV customer for over three years. A few months ago I purchased a pair of R15 DVRs with the hopes they'd one day get smart and use that nifty, deactivated USB port to let me hook them to my home network. So far, still waiting...

My problem is this... I had a software upgrade done on my machines shortly after I got them. I use the standard remotes that came with the DVRs. When playing back a television program (either recorded or 'paused') pressing the fast forward button (the clockwise arrow button) it immediately jumps me to the end of the recording.

I thought it was supposed to just jump 2 minutes or so. Can anyone help me figure out either A) what's gone wrong or B) which button I'm SUPPOSED to press?

Thanks, in advance, for your help!

There is no quick "jump ahead button" the Tivo one does when FF to the next tick I think it was 15min (unless programed for 30 sec.). The R15 goes to the end, or back to the beggining and if you pause live TV it jumps to "live time" or back to the beging of the buffer. You know what would be cool since the 30 sec. skip appears to be out? I have a vcr and it has a little ff button under the main one that ff's for 2 min.

Well, crud. I could have sworn before the software updated on the thing that it only went a short distance... but, I've slept since then. Are they planning on fixing that? That, among other things, was why I got a DVR.

I'm starting to think I should have gotten a different DVR.
