I recently started having tuner problems with my R10 unit. I can get the locals fine, but when i put either tuner on a D* station (Starz,HGTV, etc.) I get lost signals. Anyone else run across this problem? I checked signal strength through several sat. and transponders and I was getting signals on almost all transponders and all Sat's. I even tried rebooting and that did no good. Finally sometime latter in the day I got everything back. And this isn't the first time this has happened. Cables are good and my other Tivo reciever is working fine, no problems. Maybe tuner cards starting to go bad? Any thoughts?

By lost signals, what are you referring to? Any particular error message? Or just "lost signal"?
If it's lost signal, that can go with connections. But locals find and other not, doesn't make sense. If you had a "lost signal" you wouldn't get locals either, unless those are OTA.

The error message is the one you get when there is no signal to the tuner ie: the same one you get with a bad storm and the tuner does not receive a signal. The locals are through D*. It did it again this morning. Woke up and found the movie I wanted to record only recorded for about 10 min and then went black. No storms or anything of the sort. I had locals, on both tuners on different stations, but no Sat channels. Very strange.

All channels on the R10 are from the satellite (locals and pay channels). Check your signal strength. Tune to a movie channel and then check signal strength (it will show you the strength of the transponder of the channel that you were last watching). Then do the same thing with a local channel (my bet is you will see a higher signal strength on the local).
Do the same thing with your other TiVo and report back with the numbers (local compared to a movie channel on both units). The odds are it is a cable or multiswitch issue. Could be something else, but lets see the numbers first.

Well I'll see if I can't get that the next time it happens. Came home today and all is working well again.
