I was scanning the channels earlier today on my H20 and was going through the locals whn I noticed that the HD locals weren't getting any signal. I figured, ok, I'll check them later, maybe just a glitch of some kind. I checked them later, same thing, no signal. I called DTV, they connected me with advanced tech support and they talked me through an uploading of everything. Of course, this was after I had already hit the red reset button and got nothing. Anyway, after uploading the whole shebang, still no signal. Now, they've me scheduled for a tech to come out Thursday morning to take a better look. I don't know what happened but, it did. thisng is, all the other channels are fine, it's just my four locals in HD that are affected. They were fine yesterday. Unless this crazy weather we've had did something. Wind has been blowing fairly strong but, not enough to do anything to the dish itself. Oh well, just thought I'd vent a little. One good thing about it, I got my $200 rebate yesterday from when I bought the H20 and 5 LNB dish. Only took about two weeks from the time I sent it in.

Did you check to see if you had any signal on 103?

I read your quote and went and checked Ch 103 and nothing was there. In fact, the screen said channel unavailable and immediately flipped back to the channel it was previously on. So, I went to Ch 100 and surfed up and it went to 101, 102, then to 104. So, I guess since there's no channel 103, there's no signal. Why? What's up?

He wasn't talking about channel 103, he was talking about satellite 103.
Check the signal strength (http://www.directv.com/learn/pdf/System_Manuals/DIRECTV/DIRECTV_H20_UG.pdf, pages 52-53 if you need help) on satellite 103.

He meant check your signal strengths on sat 103 in the setup menu.....

On an H20, using the front panel or the remote, hit the menu button, then follow the menus

settings--setup--sat & Ant--view signal strength

Now use the arrow keys to get to the -/+ buttons next to the satellite selector and use the select key using either + or - to get to 103(network 14), this will then give you the signal strengths on 103 and hence the signal strengths for your HD locals if you are in the Detroit area....

Well, the DTV tech came out this morning. In fact, he was there at 7:45 am. He did that very thing, he checked the signal and it was low so, he went up on the roof and checked things out and said, it may have been a little out of alignment. Whatever he did, when he checked the sginal output again, it was fine and the local HD's are back on.
