Ok so my first time setting up a poll didn't go well. Let's try this again.

Clint and I think that there might be a connection with crashes/freezes and whether or not it has anything to do with have a phone line connected or not.

Edit:

The last option should read
"Phone line not connected, many crashes/freezes (3 or more)."

Ok, I allowed for mulitple votes for people who have more than one R15.

OK, you did it anyway :)

Please go here after voting on this poll:

I've also opened this one up to multiples for people with multiple R15s. Please don't abuse that.

Yes it is. Darn it again.. I have to stop trying to make polls while answering the phone. I assume I can't edit the words on the poll.

I think sharing the results outside of the author is a premium feature (as is, unfortunately, the ability to export in order to do real analysis). I'll update this thread periodically. Unfortunately we already have at least one person having a crappy R15 experience with no phone line connected.

I have two R-15's One has the phone connected and the other does not.
The operation of both units is Very good.
I have had one freeze since December and that was with the unit with no phone.

Mine does not have a phone connected to it and it has frozen up maybe 3-4 times. All when I have a heavy SL and MYVOD population.

Now, to keep this straight I'm just reporting this on the "non-played with" original HD. Strangely enough I've never had the unit freeze up when I'm testing with the 250GB drive.

So what are the results of the survery monkey poll?

Extremely small sample (only 15) and obviously not scientifically selected, but here it is.

Looks to be somewhat (but probably statistically insignificant) better on all three categories with the phone line unplugged.

Maybe those with a lot of problems could try unplugged for a few weeks, and those with no problems, if they are brave, could plug it in for a few weeks.

Notes on the spreadsheet:
Phone - is phone line connected
CID telco - Subscribed to caller-id service
CID R15 - Caller-id enabled on the R15
Calls - number of calls received per day
Stability - e.g. crash
Reliability - e.g. missed recordings
Performance - e.g. sluggishness

Enabled - average of the three ratings for those with phone line connected
Disabled - average of the three ratings for those without phone line connected

Not large enough sample to bother with anything other than the first question (phone line connected)

For those who can't or don't want to view the attachment, the payoff (such as it is):
Enabled 3.18 3.55 3.09
Disabled 3.75 4 3.75

Thanks. Wish there had been more. I think I'm going to disconnect my phone lines on the two that are having the issues and see what happens. Althought I might wait till I get the update and see if that fixes it. If not i'll try disconnecting the lines.

Thanks for doing the survey walters.

Actually, I'm sorta glad there wasn't. I had to do that "export" by hand. :)

Damn, that must be a premium option, well thank you again. And thanks for the spreadsheet.
