I did post the details about the next version, however...
I pulled them.
I didn't get 100% confirmation from DirecTV, that the next version is in public release yet. At this point, I have no explanation on why Kwillis recieved a new version.
I have 4 emails in right now, trying to get confirmation.

Actually.... he saw my post before I deleted them, and PM me and asked me if I had the version too... as everything I posted, he confirmed in his system.
He does have a version... that was at least in Alpha/Beta testing... I just didn't get the word that it was approved for public release.

You posted a release notes thread, and I missed it in the 15 minutes since I was last here? I can't believe it.

Okay... just got the word....
And since I didn't re-open the threads, you know what that word is.
Sorry guys... have to leave the info offline for now.
Looks like klwils is a lucky person....
I have asked Keith to not post any details yet regarding what he is seeing on the new version. So please, don't pester him.

Scrazzle? Driz-nip? Kinibbling-pin?
I guess it doesn't matter, since I don't even have DirecTV service right now, but DANGIT!!:icon_lame :dance07: :raspberry

An upgrade with improvements we can see?!? that sounds promising! :)

An upgrade that wasn't suppose to go out yet did. That worries me.

I'm sure it was in the data stream for a temporary period of time so that some specific person or group of people could download it, and kwillis just happened to use the magic 02468 at just the right time to grab it.
I assume they can code it so that it won't force itself on any/all systems automatically, but would respond to the force download code.
I will also assume that it isn't there any more, so don't sit up all night doing resets and punching in 02468 (unless you're really bored).

If the release has been received by a non D* employee, and he has no personal relationship (like Earl), he should be able to post whatever information he feels like making public. If D* didn't want the information released, then they should not have allowed anybody outside of the company to receive it. Even if it is only 1 person, it's now public information.

Great thought! The problem is Earl's source goes away and then we get even less information. Yeah, that'll work:rolleyes:
I got it, klwillis got it, and Larry Daughtrey got it. All in the west.
The update is clearly out, I don't see any harm in revealing some details.

I agree with you... that is why I "asked" did not "dictate" (and didn't delete the original 10B8 thread)....
I just wanted to make sure that the version was the legit public release.
Now that Halo has reported that he and others have gotten it.... HMM...
To Wolfpack... just because somepeople got it, and my contact didn't know about it... is a little worrysome, but it is not "earthshattering" It is possible my contact was busy with the TiVo contract stuff yesterday and simply didn't get the communication. :)
