I was looking to post this is the Lockup thread but it has been closed. I am still on the 103F version and last night I had huge problems. I want to try to explain what exactly was going on with the unit. I was watching and recording NCIS on CBS (Channel 4) from 8-9pm. At 8:30 the second tuner went to record Scrubs on NBC (Channel 6). At 9pm the unit is set to record Scrubs at 9pm on NBC and Pepper Dennis on the WB. It was around 9:05 and I realized that I was still on channel 4, but both tuners should have been busy elsewere recording NBC and WB. I tried to change channels to NBC and nothing, the unit did not respond to any remote button pressed. It did blink like it was recieving the signal but nothing happened. Now realize I DID NOT get a warning at 8:55 to change channels to the WB like I should have because the other tuner was already recording on NBC, and sceduled at 9 to continue recording NBC. I had to do a red button reset to get anything to work and immediately after a very long reboot process the unit did come back on and the first thing I got was the Recording, Keep Recording, Stop and Keep, Stop and Delete prompt. I then choose Keep Recording and the channel changed to NBC, but all of the beginning of the recording was gone. I am really over this piece of crap. Pepper Dennis did not record at all until I did the reset then it picked up the last part of the show.
Then today I was busy in the kitchen and it was time for Y&R. I thought no problem I'll just bring it up through MYVOD to start watching from the beginning. When I was finished in the kitchen I came into the living room and noticed that the Orange record light was not on. I turned the unit on and the record light came on immediately. I then tried to rewind without bringing up MYVOD because it was on CBS and it just rewound to the spot of when I turned the unit on, the first ten minutes weren't there. I then pulled up MYVOD and choose Y&R manually and it began at the beginning, which doesn't make any sense because the record light was not on, but apparently it did record.
They want to upgrade this unit without addressing the existing problems first, they're crazy. If they add more features and the ones that are there now don't work, where is this all going to end. I've about had it with this unit.
