View Full Version : No signal
I continue to lose my signal for some reason. I've done a test, everything is cool, but my even transponders have no signal strength. My odd ones are very strong. When I try to switch to the odd transponders, it always goes back to the previous transponder (20) that has no strength. I'm at a loss. I've turned it off and let it sit awhile. Anyone else having this problem or have suggestions?

It could either be a bad connector somewhere...check them all....a bad lnb....or your reciever could be not sending the other voltage....

Sorry, Todd, but you can't "switch" to one transponder and keep it all the time. No single transponder can carry all the channels D* has... that's why there's presently seven different satellites carrying D* channels. As you tune from channel to channel, the receiver uses the guide as a channel "map" to select the correct transponder that chanel is on.

If you have more than one receiver, swap it with one from another location. If the problem moves to the other location then you know it's in the receiver.
If the problem stays in the same location, then trace your cable back to your multiswitch or to the dish if you don't have a m/s. Switch the cables to a different port there. If the problem still stays in the same location, then it is a cabling issue.
More often than not, it is a bad connector somewhere along the line. Inspect the inside of each connector as you remove them to see if the stinger pin has anything partially covering it or if it is shorting out with the ground part of the cable. Look really good, as it can be hard to see those really fine metal strands.
