For the last few days I've been noticing a problem with my new 622 I installed a little over a week ago. After a couple of hours of operation the component video picture goes all to hell. It gets progressively more blurry and the colors shift in strange ways. The digital output is unaffected. I'm thinking that this is probably an overheating problem and am wondering if anyone else has seen this. My second, slightly older 622, doesn't have this problem but it's installed in less cramped quarters and doesn't get as much use.

I've gone ahead and moved the 622 to a different location with better ventillation, and had to move two other components in the process. It cooled down while unplugged, and has returned to normal for the moment. I'm going to keep it on for a while to see if it goes strange again.

I don't know about a hairball but moving the 622 didn't help. However when the ambient room temperature dropped 6 degrees from 82 to 76 the 622 began operating normally again. I've ordered a USB-powered fan.

I've never had this problem with my downstairs 622, but the basement is always 5-10 degrees cooler than upstairs.
