I just see 0s for some transponders and n/a for most.

Do you need to reset your receiver to get the new sat?
ki4cgs: no, they should just now either show some signal or 0 on about 11 transponders. Spaceway 2 (sat 99) is reportedly for spot beamed HD locals, and some markets might not get ANY signal yet, while others may get rather strong signals (i.e., Chicago might get 98 on transponder 22, while Cleveland gets nothing...very location dependent).

Well... I guess it is time to hit ebay for the WB68 switch (since I got the 6802 from my installer... :( )

ok newbie question here. I've only been lurking through the R15 forums.
Does this improve life for the average viewer, or is it just a geeky celebration of a new bird in the sky? And please don't get me wrong, if it's just news because its cool, thats fine by me! :)
For now, just a geeky celebration...probably an indication that internal testing has begun for more HD locals (that's the purpose of Spaceway 1 & 2...nationals won't come until two more birds are launched later this year and early 2007).
Plus its a good indication that things are starting to progress. The last thing you want are delays, as they slow down any other progression!

I'm excited to hear about how these signals peform in summertime thunderstorms. Ka-band has some scary limitations and I'm fascinated by the concept of the AT9 dish.

What citys are they planning on putting on the new sat? Are they going to move existing markets over?
