Is anyone else watching this excellent show? I was surprised to find out that the season finale is October 18. Has anyone heard if it's been picked up for more episodes?

It is pretty funny. Tony Shaloob is really a genius. If you liked him as as the Cab Driver on "Wings", you'll love him in this role.

My wife and I love this show. Tony Shaloub really gets his chance to shine in the lead role and he makes the most of it. We tape the program on Friday nights and watch it on Saturday evenings, sans commercials.

the new shows on the "cable" channels are essentially follwoing the british model for a tv season-around 13-14 episodes-and not buying into the syndication mindset("we HAVE to get 100 shows made in four years!!!")-the writing tends to be generally better and you attract actors who normally wouldn't consider doing tv because two thirds of their year isn't taken up doing this...

Although to could end up with the Sopranos model where you are 18 months between seasons and that is tooo long. But at least you have a smaller chance of "Jumping the Shark" within the first 5 years :D

watched last friday's monk last night and am constantly impressed with this show(the look on monk's face when he realized he wasn't going to be reinstated and then his utter frustration when he figured out the solution to the crime ONE MORE TIME for someone he felt stabbed him in the back)-this guy tony shalaub should get an emmy next year...
