dvd recorder

hi I just purchased a panasonic PT52LCX65 projection tv.I will receive it next week.
I presently have a dirrect tv dvr but will soon upgrade to the HDDVR.
I presently own a panasonic dvd recorder.what is the best way to hook the recorder up so I may be able to record off the tv or dvr.can it be done or am I missing something.if I run a line from the dvr to the imput of the recorder and then output to the t.v will I loose the stereo sound.

From the HDDVR use the HDMI output to the TV for the best quality. To record from the HDDVR use the s-video and stereo outputs to the DVD recorder. Then use the s-video and audio outputs to the TV. You will not lose stereo audio. Note that to record from the HDDVR it has to set to output in 480i format. To record from the TV(?), I'll assume an antenna for this, just connect the Antenna to the DVD recorder's RF input.
