I have an R10 Tivo and on the channel banner it doesn't have the channel logo's on any of the channel's. Does anyone else have this problem? I use to have a DVR80 and it had the logo's on the banner. It is difficult to see what channel I am on without the logo.

Thanks!
Michael

Did you recently do a "clear and delete"...

Logo's are only downloaded to the unit during a software update, which the R10 has never had.

So if that unit has ever had a Clear and Delete done to it... the logos are gone.

No, I never did a clear and delete. I just got this because the tuner on my DVR80 went out and they couldn't fix it. So, I just got this Friday. Is there anyway to get them?

Other then downloading an image, and applying it manually...

Aka, there is no menu option to re-download them

If it was a reburb, possibly a previous user did the C&D.

I guess there is no way to get them to reload the software so those will start showing again/

Nope, unless you want to crack the case and do some hacking..

Heavy hacking. Remember it's an R10, you're talking about PROM replacement.

Well in this case it wouldn't be "that" heavy... just require trying to slip in the graphic files... shouldn't trip the eprom checks... but none the less...

If you haven't done it before... I don't recommend trying on your primary unit.

Bottom line... I would recommend turning on the Folder option (which doesn't show the channel logos anyway, in the master list).

That's probably right. Could be done if one is so inclined.

Cripe, I've never even tested to what point you can push until the chain-o-trust kicks in. I know /etc is a no-no.

I talked to Directv about it and like you guys said there is no way they can resend the software to get those logo's to reappear. But, they said they will send me a new R15 at no charge.

Doesnt 0 2 4 6 8 work on the DirecTiVos to reload the software ?

Nope...
Actually when I think about it, there is no equivilent on the DTivos at all. well there is the "emergency" switch to the other partion code, but you wouldn't want to do that (won't help).

The only way to "reaload" the software, is to pull the drive.
