Harmony 880. Expensive but does work.
I've bought many <$100 universal remotes over the years and none worked right. My wife hated all. Spent the extra $$$ on the 880 and it works great. Plus, my wife loves it. She was VERY happy this one didn't end up in the drawer with the rest.
It's programmed via a browser and you setup an account with all your equipment. Downloads the code to the remote. Well worth the $$$.
Although I have not programmed my R15 with this as it's in a different room.
One of the mods may want to move this to the General DTV forum so you get more than HD folks input.

I second that. It is a little expensive but if you look on the internet you can get it for $150 all day long. If you can wait for a little while keep your eyes open for one of the $70 after $50 rebate offers from Dell. I just got that deal last month. You can't beat $70 for a Harmony 880! I actually have it operating a r15 and h20 in the same room even though they use the same remote codes. It was pretty easy to teach the receivers and remote to use different codes.
thanks fellas i certainly will give the 880 a try. ill take any advice from a fan of the greatest quarterback ever to play the game and a guy who knows the single reason to consolidate remotes is simplicity for the mrs. !!

That sounds like something I'd be interested in.
1 questions tho.
I'm limited to dial-up interet and I wonder how long the download process would take.
OBTW gidder
You can test drive the set-up process at the Harmony website. Pretty Cool.

There are many models of the Harmony remotes. They basically all work the same way. Button layouts differ among the models and the 880 has some fancy features like a full color lcd screen with neat little icons, along with a rechargable batteries and a charger cradle.
The 880 is more expensive than most other models, but it may be worth it if you value the additional features.
I have the 676 model and I love it. The button layout suits me well and I like the size. It is also a good bit cheaper than the 880. You should check the Harmony web site to see all the different models before deciding which is for you, then go internet price-shopping for the one you select. Comp-U-Plus is a good vendor with competitive pricing.
I will need another Harmony remote soon for a different area in the house. I am absolutely in the market for an 880 at the right price, but I would not be unhappy to get another 676, instead. It will just depend on whether I find the 880 at the price I want before the time arrives when I need it.

I recently purchased the Sony RM-AV2500 and it works great!! Used to have 8 remotes all over the place' now there's just one, even works on my tivo!!!:)
Are there any inexpensive universal remotes that are specifically made for DirecTiVo's/R-15 and have all the button functions "labeled" ?
I hate programming remotes and having to remember what key does what and dont need a LCD screen that just adds to the cost. I really cant see myself paying as much for a remote as some of the device that it controls. Anything under $50 ??
I recently bought a URC-100 that works well. Got it for $60 from J&R.

The urc-100 is a great remote, but it doesn't have preset code for the R15, you would need to learn all commands.
